TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE

Traditional Thai massage has its origins in India, where Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, doctor of the Buddha, founded this ancient therapeutic practice. The teachings of Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha then reached Thailand at the same time that Buddhism, around the 2nd or 3rd century BC.

Traditional Thai massage, as well as yoga, is based on the theory that the life energy (Prana) we absorb through food, air, sensory experiences, runs in thousands of energy lines through the body. In the yoga philosophy  there are 72,000 energy channels and they are called nadis . Thai massage works on 10 of these channels and calls them Sen. There is therefore a direct relationship between yoga and Thai massage and this is the reason why this type of treatment is also called Thai Yoga Massage. Through the work on these energy lines it is possible to find and dissolve energy blocks that are the cause of illness.

The traditional thai massage lasts 90/120 minutes, is received lying on a mat and is based on massaging some specific points of the body, stretching and some passive yoga positions.

The result is a deep relaxation and a general well-being.

In Switzerland some health insurance companies can reimburse up to 50% of the treatment.
